Privacy Policy

Overview
AfriLeak is operated with a deliberate commitment to transparency regarding the information necessary for the platform to function, to protect its users, and to maintain the integrity of its systems. This policy sets out, in measured terms, the categories of information that may be processed in the course of providing the service, the purposes for which such processing occurs, and the choices available to individuals who use AfriLeak.
Anonymity on AfriLeak is designed to shield a user’s identity from other members of the public. It does not extend to the platform itself. This distinction is fundamental and is stated without qualification.
Categories of Information
In the ordinary operation of the service, AfriLeak may process:
- Information supplied by the user when creating or maintaining an account, including identifiers and any optional profile details voluntarily provided.
- Content published or transmitted through the platform, encompassing posts, comments, messages, listings, and associated media.
- Technical and operational data generated through ordinary use of the service, necessary for security, integrity, and the proper functioning of the platform.
- Records relating to the AfriCoin ledger, which are maintained on an append-only basis in order to preserve the accountability of the closed economic system.
Where a user elects to publish content under the anonymity feature, the platform retains the capacity to associate that content with the originating account for the limited purposes of moderation, safety, and legal compliance. That association is protected by encryption, with the relevant cryptographic material held separately from the primary database. Access is restricted, logged, and exercised only when required.
Purpose of Processing
Information is processed solely for purposes that are necessary and proportionate, including the provision and continuous improvement of the service, the maintenance of platform security, the prevention of abuse, the enforcement of community standards and applicable law, the operation of the AfriCoin economy in a transparent manner, and response to lawful requests from competent authorities.
Retention
Different categories of information are retained for periods that reflect their operational necessity. Network-level identifiers are subject to relatively short retention. Account-related and ledger data persist for the life of the account, subject to the user’s right of deletion. Certain anonymised ledger adjustments may be retained thereafter in order to preserve the integrity of the coin supply.
User Rights and Choices
Individuals may review and correct information associated with their account through the Settings interface, request deletion of their account, enquire regarding the information held about them, and manage notification preferences. Account deletion is designed to be permanent. Certain anonymised records required for the accountability of the AfriCoin system may remain after identity has been stripped.
Security and Limitations
Appropriate technical and organisational measures are employed to protect information. Passwords are stored in hashed form. Communications are transmitted over encrypted connections. No system can be guaranteed invulnerable, and AfriLeak does not assert otherwise.
Third Parties and Legal Disclosure
Limited third-party infrastructure is used for the delivery of the service. AfriLeak may disclose information where required to do so by applicable law or by competent legal process.
Age Restriction
AfriLeak is not directed at children. Participation in the dating features requires confirmation that the user is at least eighteen years of age.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be communicated through the platform. Continued use after such notification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
